Pakistan draw with Invitational XI

The three-day tour cricket match between a New Zealand Invitation XI and Pakistan ended in a draw in Queenstown with a session remaining before the scheduled close.

The match was called off at tea with the Invitation XI at 231 for two in their second innings, holding an overall lead of 179 runs.

Opener Tim McIntosh was unbeaten on 131 and Grant Elliott was the other not out batsman on 22.

Daniel Flynn was the sole wicket to fall today for 56 after he and McIntosh added  137 for the second wicket.

Pakistan fashioned a 52-run first innings lead on Thursday when making 286 in reply  to the home side's 234, with Fawad Alam topscoring with 77 batting at No. 3.

Pakistan head to Dunedin on Saturday to prepare for the first test against New Zealand starting at University Oval next Tuesday.
