Pakistan team management have acted to defuse rumours of a conflict between two of their fast bowlers following reports Mohammad Aamer and Umar Gul had a dressing room bust-up after New Zealand were beaten in the second Test in Wellington.
Media on the subcontinent reported the pair came to blows at the Basin Reserve, soon after Pakistan levelled the three-match series on Sunday with a 141-run victory.
The pair did have a disagreement over their respective fielding positions during New Zealand's unsuccessful run chase, which required intervention from captain Mohammad Yousuf.
The Times of India reported a source close to the team had confirmed the dressing room incident and both players were fined 200,000 rupees ($NZ3365) following a disciplinary hearing.
Pakistan team manager Abdul Raqeeb denied the pair had an altercation in the dressing room.
"Nothing happened, to be very honest," he said.
"Otherwise there would be a fine or some action would be taken by the management committee."
Gul and Aamer both trained on Wednesday at a jovial practice session ahead of Friday's third and final Test at McLean Park.
It was the first time the team have been able to train outdoors since before the opening Test in Dunedin. Rain in Wellington kept the players indoors.
