Napier is another of New Zealand's stunningly picturesque grounds, with a backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and Marine Parade just behind the stands.

Napier became a test venue in 1978/79 and held its most recent test when New Zealand played Sri Lanka there in 1995/96.

McLean Park was the first stadium in New Zealand to host a day-night match in 1995/96 and has become a one-day regular stop for visiting teams since.

The home of Central Districts, Napier enjoys some of New Zealand's best weather, with a warm and dry climate as well as the region's wineries and fruit production.
