Hamish Bennett
DOB: 22/2/1987
Playing role: Bowler
Batting style: Left-hand bat
Bowling style: Right-arm fast-medium
Bennett announced himself by taking 7 for 50 in a
man-of-the-match performance in the 2008 State Shield Final and
despite a run of injuries, his first 12 ODI's yielded 20 wickets at
an average of just 21.8. Tall and well-built, he possesses a
front-on action that's reminiscent of West Indian quicks of days
gone by and is always looking to attack the batsman and the stumps.
His first Test appearance, against India in late 2010, ended with
another injury on the first day but Bennett will get plenty
more
opportunities in partnership with Tim Southee in years to
come.
