West Indies captain Chris Gayle won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia in the second limited overs match at Adelaide Oval.

The visitors are looking for an improved display after their heavy defeat in the first match at the MCG on Sunday.

Australia have withdrawn in-form Ryan Harris from the team that played in Melbourne with his place taken by Clint McKay.

West Indies have named an unchanged XI.

Hot temperatures are forecast for Adelaide, and a sparse crowd has filed in for the weekday fixture.

Teams

Australia: Ricky Ponting (capt), Shane Watson, Shaun Marsh, Michael Clarke, Cameron White, Michael Hussey, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Clint McKay, Doug Bollinger, Ryan Harris (12th man).

West Indies : Chris Gayle (capt), Runako Morton, Travis Dowlin, Lendl Simmons, Narsingh Deonarine, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Smith, Denesh Ramdin, Nikita Miller, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy (12th man).
