Australian paceman Doug Bollinger was handed an official reprimand for dissent following his appearance before ICC match referee Chris Broad on Monday night.
Bollinger reacted angrily when he had an emphatic lbw appeal refused on day four of the second Test against the West Indies in Adelaide.
The left-armer bubbled over when Windies batsman Brendan Nash, on seven, did not offer a shot to an in-dipping delivery and was struck on the pads.
Bollinger's appeal took him to within a metre of Nash, and when refused by umpire Asad Rauf, the Australian paceman kicked the turf in disgust and was motioned to return to his bowling mark by his captain Ricky Ponting.
Replays showed the delivery was on track to strike the stumps but Nash went on to made 24.
Australia couldn't refer the verdict to the third umpire, given Ponting had earlier used his two permitted challenges unsuccessfully.
Realising the error in his ways and without any prior offences in only his second Test match, Bollinger pleaded guilty without much prompting from Broad and so escaped a fine.
