Bangladesh batsman Raqibul Hassan has had his contract terminated and will not be considered for selection for the national team for three months, the cricket board said on Saturday.

Raqibul announced his retirement from international cricket last week, two days before the first Test against England, only to change his mind later.

"It was a serious breach of discipline on the part of a contracted player and unbecoming of an international cricketer," the Bangladesh Cricket Board said in statement.

"As such the Board has terminated his contract with immediate effect and he will not be considered for selection in the national team for three months effective from 19 March," said the statement.

"However he will be allowed to participate in domestic cricket competitions," the BCB added.

Raqibul, 22, was upset after being dropped for the one-day series against England and missing out on the 30-member provisional squad for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons told reporters last week.

The three-month selection ban means Raqibul will miss Bangladesh's two Tests in England in May/June.
