Daniel Vettori
DOB: 27/01/1979
Playing Role: All-Rounder
Batting Style: Left-hand bat
Bowling Style: Slow left-arm orthodox
The former Black Caps skipper burst on to the international scene
in 1997 when he made his debut against England and became New
Zealand's youngest Test cricketer at just 18-years of age. 15 years
on and he looks set to smash all kinds of New Zealand cricket
records. Only he and the great Sir Richard Hadlee have completed
the coveted 300-wickets-3000-run Test double and he is on track to
one day overtake Hadlee's once world record tally of 431 wickets.
Numbers aside, Vettori, who handed the captaincy to Ross Taylor
after the 2011 one-day World Cup, is an inspirational player for
the Black Caps. His sterling determination to fight along with
his competent all-round skills makes him one of the standout
cricketers of his generation.
