Hammond Peek - sound recordist

Hammond Peek has been recording film and television sound for 36 years. As well as TV documentaries, drama and commercials, he has worked as sound recordist on 12 feature films including King Kong, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Frighteners, Heavenly Creatures, Came a Hot Friday, Bridge to Nowhere and Pallet on the Floor.

As well as Country Calendar, his documentary work includes the BBC/Discovery programme Hunt for the Giant Squid and Natural History's Animal Planet series.

Hammond has been nominated for four Oscars and has won the award twice, for his work on the Return of the King in 2004 and King Kong in 2006. He also been nominated for four Baftas and won the CAS (Cinema Audio Society) award for the Fellowship of the Ring in 2001.

Although Hammond enjoys his movie work - particularly with Peter Jackson - he also loves the chance to get out into the countryside with Country Calendar.
