Don Anderson - sound recordist
Don Anderson was born into farming life and raised on a sheep and cropping farm in sunny Southland. But rather than take over the family farm, he opted for a career in broadcasting - first as a technician, then as a field sound recordist for both film and television.
His skill with a soldering iron coupled with a 'number 8 wire mentality' has seen him repair everything from cameras to a helicopter in extremely remote locations.
His love of the great outdoors and the people who inhabit it which was forged in those early years, means he still enjoys the variety of people and locations his career offers.
Specialising in high-end documentaries for organisations like Natural History New Zealand, the BBC, The Discovery Channel and National Geographic, Don has filmed around the world - literally from top (the Arctic) to bottom (the Antarctic).
Don says Hyundai Country Calendar has always been special a joy to work on because it maintains high production values and continues to celebrate the spirit and enterprise of the Kiwi farming community.
