Tony Gordon

Gray O'Brien plays Tony Gordon on Coronation Street

Played by: Gray O'Brien

First Appeared: 2007 (UK)

Date of Birth: 22 December 1968

Occupation: Business owner, developer

Relations: Divorced from Lindsay

Love:  Engaged to Carla Conor

Storylines:  Scottish businessman Tony first appeared on the street through a contract with Underworld.

He took a shine to Carla Conor and they began dating. The relationship had it's ups and downs, largely due to the sexual tensions smoldering between Carla and her brother-in-law Liam.

Carla made a move on Liam just before his wedding to Maria Sutherland. When he turned her down, she broke things off with Tony in an attempt to prove that her feelings for Liam were real. However when Liam went ahead with the wedding, Tony was able to charm Carla into taking him back.

In an effort to woo her he broke into her apartment and cooked her dinner.

Although claiming to be keeping business and personal lives separate, Tony offered to buy Liam's share of the business without consulting Carla.

After questioning Carla she revealed that she had once kissed Liam. Tony reacted calmly, but privately reacted angrily. Tony soon upped the ante, inviting Liam, Maria, Michelle and Steve over for dinner and surprising Carla with a proposal.

Tony set his sights on expanding his business empire on the street - developing the new flats, buying Liam's share of Underworld and planning to expand. And while he manages to charm some of the residents, his determination to succeed often sees him run foul of the residents.
