TVNZ's Outside Broadcast or OB unit has been part of many of New Zealand's and the world's premier sporting and cultural events, in the process, earning a reputation for total flexibility, commitment, technical excellence and creative outside broadcast solutions.

TVNZ's OB unit operates eight outside broadcast units nationally - ranging from 16 camera-capable semi-trailers to three camera capable OB facilities. We also have a 'Fly Away' capability allowing us to service our clients throughout the Pacific Rim.

Hardware resources are supported by effective logistics and a team of professionals who bring a high level of experience and expertise to every assignment along with our ability to consistently deliver cost-effective quality outside broadcasts.

We will tailor a package of equipment and vehicles to meet the needs of high-end or low-end production budgets. 

For up-scale productions, TVNZ Broadcast Services can supply state-of-the-art Digital OB trucks purpose built for New Zealand conditions to exacting international quality standards.

These OB units as well as our Fly-Away kits can be customised to suite production needs that includes: the latest 14 bit cameras, Sony's 8000 Vision Desk, and EVS disk recorders.
