Talented New Zealand galloper Ex Ex Al has been sold to interests in Ireland as a future National Hunt racing prospect.
Otaki-based bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo confirmed the sale of Ex Ex Al had been arranged in conjunction with England-based Blandford Bloodstock.
Cataldo said Ex Ex Al would head to Ireland later this month.
'He will race on the flat in Ireland for a couple of years and then be tried as a jumper,' Cataldo said.
'He is an extremely powerful galloper with endless amounts of stamina and looks ideal as a National Hunt racing type. Hopefully one day we will see him run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup (major jumps race) over there,' Cataldo said.
Ex Ex Al was trained at New Plymouth by Tracey Bliss who prepared him for five wins from eight starts with his victories including the time-honoured Wellington Racing Club Parliamentary Handicap (2200m) in July which was his third win in succession.
