The New Zealand Blood Service is a national not-for-profit organisation that ensures the supply of safe blood products. They take responsibility for the development of an integrated national blood transfusion process from the collection of blood from volunteer donors to the transfusion of blood products within the hospital environment - a 'vein to vein' transfusion service.
The continued support and commitment of blood donors is essential to the success of the New Zealand Blood Service. Donating blood is one of the most important contributions a person can make to their community for the benefit of the healthcare of New Zealanders.
