What does a Sales Executive do?
A Sales Executive looks for advertising sales opportunities
directly with clients, advertising agencies and non-TV advertisers.
Along with maintaining schedules and schedule performance, a Sales
Executive must add value to a client's schedule through
environmental placements and programme sponsorships. Driving
advertising sales, maintaining year on year spend and looking for
incremental growth are all key parts of the role.
What I like about being a Sales Executive -
"There is room in my position to be pro-active - in utilising the
strengths of television for broad audience reach, and the emotive
impact of clients' messages" Andrew Horan, Sales Executive.
What qualifications do I need to become a Sales Executive?
A tertiary qualification in Advertising or Communications is very
beneficial. However to be a successful Sales Executive you must
have initiative, be able to think 'outside the square' and enjoy
working with people within a fast paced, competitive environment.
An understanding of television as a medium and how it relates to
other mediums is also an advantage.
