Kylie Minogue is to make her hotly anticipated international comeback in Australia, resuming a tour cut short a year ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Minogue will kick off her renamed Showgirl Homecoming Tour in Sydney on November 11, and finish in her home town of Melbourne on December 17.
The 2004 Grammy winner was diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year, just days before she was due to start the final leg of her world tour in Australia.
The 38-year-old postponed the Showgirl Tour to undergo treatment and fans were told to hold on to their tickets.
Frontier Touring Company managing director Michael Gudinski today popped a bottle of champagne outside his Melbourne office as he announced the resumption of the tour.
Gudinski said he had just returned from visiting Minogue in London and she was looking great.
"She's definitely through the worst of everything, she's so determined and she can't wait to see you all," he said.
"Obviously she's still got a few mountains to climb, but we're very, very confident that the tour will be going ahead in November."
Minogue finished chemotherapy in December and in recent weeks has stepped up her public appearances, stepping on stage briefly early this month during a London concert by her sister Dannii.
In an interview to be screened on the Nine Network on July 17, Minogue is expected to talk about her ordeal and her plans for her future with boyfriend Olivier Martinez.
Gudinski said Minogue was back recording and working on new songs, and had just completed a children's book.
He said while more songs would feature in the updated concerts, there would be no new music.
Gudinski said the show was physically demanding so the tour had been spread over a longer period.
"Kylie was a hard worker who used to do three, four nights in a row. We'll only be doing two shows in a row (this time)," he said.
"We're going to take as much pressure (off her) as we can."
Gudinski said Minogue looked as "fit as a fiddle" when he saw her last weekend, although she still got tired "on the odd day".
He said a small number of tickets would go on sale on July 19, but there would be no extra concerts at this stage.
All original tour dates have been aligned with a new date and fans do not need to exchange their tickets.
Gudinski said Minogue would begin rehearsals later in the year in London, before full rehearsals in Sydney.
He said any profit from any interest made on ticket sales while the tour was postponed would be paid to the charity of Minogue's choice.
He anticipated Minogue would have a new album out in the first half of next year.
Meanwhile Minogue has hit back at media reports that because her boyfriend is French, she and her sister are supporting France in the World Cup.
In a message posted on her website, she said: "I am offended by reports in today's media claiming that either Dannii or I are giving any less than our full support to the Socceroos. On the contrary we have joined the nation cheering our boys on in the World Cup, we are right behind you."
