Those who have served New Zealand in combat are remembered in a range of programmes this week on TV ONE.
Saturday 22 April, Marae, 10am: Reporter Reuben Collier takes a personal journey with Lou Phillips of Te Arawa, who suffers from Agent Orange exposure as a result of his tour of duty in the Vietnam War.
Saturday 22 April, Women at War, 11am: A documentary commemorating women who were involved in World War II, with stories from survivors about their adventures, their heroism, and how the war changed their lives.
Sunday 23 April, Praise Be, 9am: Chris Nichol presents a programme of hymns and songs for Anzac Day.
Monday 24 April, Our Lost War: Passchendaele, 8.35pm: Actor Robyn Malcolm makes a pilgrimage to the final resting place of her Great Uncle George who lost his life in WWI's disastrous Battle of Passchendaele.
Tuesday 25 April, Anzac Day, VJ Day 60th Anniversary
Commemorations: 7am, In 2005, 60 years after the end of World
War II, Pacific veterans from throughout New Zealand gathered in
Wellington for a commemorative service in St Paul's Cathedral,
followed by an inspection by Prime Minister Helen Clark in
Parliament grounds.
10am, Anzac Day Memorial: A moment of remembrance for all those who
died while serving New Zealand at war.
11am, Anzac Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony: Ian Johnstone presents live
coverage of the national ceremony of remembrance from the National
War Memorial in Wellington, on the 91st anniversary of Anzac Day.
An address will be given by the Governor General of New Zealand,
her Excellency the Hon Dame Silvia Cartwright.
11.35pm, Ten Days To Victory: The programme interweaves the stories
of 10 very different people caught up in the liberation of Europe
from the grip of Nazi terror. Their diaries, letters and interviews
provide a unique insight into the dramatic events of some of the
most gripping and terrifying days in history.
