Social Development Minister David Benson-Pope says he is considering taking legal action in response to allegations posted on the Investigate magazine website.

The Investigate story is an updated version of a recent one which accused the minister of making girls stand outside in their nighties while on school camp.

The latest allegations include that Benson-Pope slapped a girl on the thigh and burst in on girls when they were showering.

Benson-Pope says the allegations are nonsense and he has had overwhelming support from students, staff and parents.

Prime Minister Helen Clark last week voiced her support for him.
