Alliance MP Phillida Bunkle has apologised to parliament after parts of her submission to a select committee inquiry on Northland gynaecologist Graham Parry were released prematurely to the public.
The Health Select Committee is inquiring into the adverse effects on women as a result of treatment by Parry, who was struck off for his treatment of a patient who died of cervical cancer.
Bunkle, who is part of the committee, has been criticised for preparing her own submission to the hearing.
In a special statement, she told parliament that parts of the embargoed copy of her submission were made public before the select committee had released the document.
Bunkle says she regrets the mistake which was made inadvertently and she apologised to both the committee and to parliament.
