Even after a first round straight sets victory ASB Classic top seed Nadia Petrova is picking faults in her performance ahead of her second round match.
Petrova cruised into the last 16 with a comfortable 6-2 6-2 win over Mariana Diaz-Oliva of Argentina on Monday but already had an eye on Tuesday's scheduled clash between Vera Dushevina and Anne Kremer.
The world number seven will play the winner of that match in the second round.
The Russian swept through her first round match in just over an hour but was not content with her performance.
"Well not exactly. Even though the score looked quite simple it was still a struggle with too many unforced errors and I couldn't get my first serve going, especially with this wind," she told reporters.
The wind wreaked havoc on the opening day of the tournament, forcing players to produce more errors and giving them plenty of trouble on service.
"It was hard to adjust because it hasn't been a constant wind because it has been on and off all the time," she said.
"I am sure in the next couple of days I can put in a better performance than I have today.
"I feel good. I don't feel jet-lagged or tired. I am already used to the time difference and weather."
Dushevina and Kremer will meet on Tuesday and Petrova will be a certain spectator so long as the Auckland weather allows the match to get underway after it washed out the latter part of Monday's action.
"I have to work my practise schedule around it but I definitely want to see that game."
ONE Sport has LIVE coverage of day two from 11am on Tuesday, while tvnz.co.nz has live streaming of the action from the ASB Tennis Centre.
