- Unlike other organizations, OA is not just about weight loss, obesity or diets; it addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. POST AND ANTE NATAL DISTRESS
The Post & Ante Natal Distress Group provides support for women
and their families who are experiencing distress or depression
during pregnancy and/or after the birth of a baby. This voluntary
not-for-profit organization has been operating since 1989.
There are regular structured therapy-based education and support
groups run by trained, experienced facilitators and counsellors.
These offer information and therapeutic interventions and
strategies to help women recover from PND. There is access to
subsidised counselling for those needing more intensive
therapy. The telephone support line is staffed by trained
people who have recovered from PND, and are now volunteers. It
operates 7 days a week from 9am - 9pm.
