Black Caps spinner Daniel Vettori says he is excited about the Super Series between the World XI and Australia starting next week in Melbourne.
Vettori leaves on Thursday to join the world team who play Australia in three one dayers in Melbourne, and a six-day test in Sydney, saying it is an exciting concept with plenty at stake for both sides.
Vettori is the only New Zealander in the World XI, and he has been selected for both the one dayers and the test. The first one day match is next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, New Zealand A have been beaten by South Africa A in their latest match in the tri-series in Sri Lanka on Thursday.
New Zealand scored 239 for 8 with Matthew Sinclair and James Marshall both scoring half centuries.
South
Africa reached their target with just one ball and one wicket to
spare. The two sides will meet again in the final of the series,
that also included Sri Lanka A, in Colombo on Saturday.
