The latest opinion poll shows Labour and National inseparable as they head into the last week of the campaign.
In the Herald Digi-Poll of 801 voters Labour is just ahead with 40.6% support, down almost three on the corresponding poll a week earlier, while National is up one on 40.1%.
The poll was conducted before National leader Don Brash admitted he knew the Exclusive Brethren were producing anti-Labour and anti-Greens pamphlets.
Both New Zealand First and the Greens saw their support go up. NZ First recorded 7% support and the Greens nearly 6% in the poll.
No other minor party got anywhere near 5%.
The Maori Party are up to 2.8%, Act is up to 1.9%, United Future is down 1 to 0.7%, the Progressives are up to 0.4%, Destiny is down to 0.3% and Christian Heritage is on 0.1%.
In the preferred Prime Minister stakes the poll shows Helen Clark up 1.9 points to 54.7%, while Don Brash is down 2.4 to 34.8%. New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is on 9.3% support.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5%.
