New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has launched a stinging attack on National Party leader Don Brash, suggesting he is too politically inexperienced to become Prime Minister.
During a speech on Thursday Peters accused Brash of political misjudgment and of making ill-informed and injudicious comments.
Afterwards, Peters cited Brash's position on the Zimbabwe cricket tour and his questioning of the government's reaction to the recent foot and mouth hoax.
Brash says Peters is playing political games because he does not want to be upfront about which political party he plans to support after the election.
Also on Thursday Peters hit out at Prime Minister Helen Clark saying she should front up and set an election date.
"Her silly game of smoke and mirrors over the election date has already cost Labour big time in the polls and the situation will only get worse for them if she keeps playing games with New Zealanders," Peters says.
He says
Clark must give New Zealanders some certainty.
