The new Chinese team was put together by businessman Chaoyang Wang and has already received a big boost by forming a partnership with French team Le Defi, who raced in the previous two America's Cups.
China Team will use their boats and sailing knowledge but wil still be up against it as they look to get into the lead-up Acts 4 and 5 after only a month of preparation.
This team represents the first ever challenge by a Chinese outfit in the long history of the America's Cup.
