A fuming Tony Kemp was forced to contain himself after the Warriors 32-22 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys at Ericcson Stadium on Sunday.
The dreadful refereeing of Tony Archer and some lack of composure at crucial times from his chargers saw the Warriors slide to 1-2 after the first three weeks of the new season.
The Warriors coach was unable to comment on the performance of Archer but was clearly frustrated with his inconsistent decision-making.
"A few of them were fair and some of them weren't," Kemp told reporters but only after saying he was gagged by the NRL's policy and that he was unable to comment on the standard of Archer's game.
Officialdom aside, Kemp was not overly pleased with his own side's decision-making towards the end of the game.
"I thought we lacked a bit of composure. You are looking at a finals team there - the Cowboys - and they showed more composure than us.
"They built pressure and hung in the game.
"We still need to tweak a couple of areas and stay composed."
After going 12-0 down in the first 20 minutes on the back of Archer's whistle and some sloppy errors, the Warriors played some quality football and were able to bring themselves back into the game late in the first half.
Upon returning from the sheds 20-10 down, the home side kicked into gear and chased the Cowboys down, going ahead at one stage before a late surge saw the visitors grab the points.
"When we got it back to 20-all and 22-20, there was an opportunity for the game to swing our way but we just couldn't get any momentum today, there was just far too many stoppages with blokes running onto the field and that killed the game."
It was a frustrating game for all to watch as a string of penalties for infringements and a number of interruptions halted the flow of the game.
Cowboys prop Carl Webb was ordered to leave the field after being sent to the blood bin on a number of occasions. At times play was stopped for 30 seconds at a time, when Archer had to walk over to him and instruct the trainers to take him off the field to get cleaned up as opposed to working on him behind the play.
