James Ransley is the roving reporter for Breakfast in Wellington, having previously been the show's Christchurch reporter.

He comes from Waikanae on the glorious Kapiti Coast.

James graduated from Victoria University in 2008 with an Arts degree in Politics and Social Policy. He went on to study journalism at the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch and was awarded the TVNZ Ross Stevens Scholarship.

He came to TVNZ in 2010 where he cut his teeth as an intern in the Wellington newsroom before moving to Auckland to work behind the scenes on Breakfast.

James enjoys a good yarn, playing the guitar and a game of golf played very badly.
