Four players will make their debut for the Kiwis in Friday morning's rugby league test against France in Carcassonne.

Bulldogs centre Jamaal Lolesi will play at fullback after coach Daniel Anderson decided regular fullback Brent Webb needed a rest after long season.

Tigers centre Dene Halatau starts at hooker instead of his recognised position, wjile Melbourne prop Alex Chan and Warriors lock Wairangi Koopu have also been named in Anderson's squad.

In a surprise move former Warriors winger Henry Fa'afili will play five-eighth outside Bradford halfback Robbie Paul.

Despite playing all his NRL career on the wing, Fa'afili had experience at five-eighth when playing for Samoa in the 2000 World Cup in England.

Not considered for selection due to injury are Thomas Leuluai, Logan Swann, Vince Anderson, Francis Meli and David Kidwell.
