Lorenzo wins, Rossi crashes in MotoGP

Jorge Lorenzo won the Indianapolis MotoGP race on Sunday to reduce the world championship lead of Yamaha team-mate Valentino Ross.

The Italian still leads Lorenzo by 25 points despite crashing out early in the race.

Australian Casey Stoner retained third place despite his absence due to illness.

Second place at Indianapolis went to Honda rider Alex de Angelis while Nicky Hayden was third for Ducati.

Australian Chris Vermuelen was 11th for Suzuki.
