One person died on Tuesday after a head-on crash near Waiuku, southwest of Auckland.
The incident happened in Awhitu Rd, Karioitahi, in Franklin district, about noon, when a Honda Integra car collided with a Toyota hatchback.
It is believed one of the cars rolled, trapping its occupant.
The male driver of one vehicle was killed, while the male driver of the other was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The incident resulted in the closure of the road for most of the
afternoon.
