Ford star Jamie Whincup has bounced back to form to win Sunday's gruelling V8 Supercar race at Symmons Plains.
Whincup, who won the first four races of the year, extended his lead at the top of the points table when he beat home Will Davison's Holden by 0.4 of a second.
Just two tenths of a second back in third after 84 laps was New Zealander Fabian Coulthard.
Coulthard scored the first podium of his career in his FG Falcon.
The race was interrupted by safety car periods with cars spearing off the circuit and the final safety period, with just seven laps remaining, meant a sprint to the flag for Whincup.
Holden's Garth Tander, who took out yesterday's 42-lap opening race, finished 13th while Greg Murphy, who started from third on the grid behind Whincup and Holden's Todd Kelly, was caught up in racing incidents and limped home 23rd.
With Craig Lowndes' two race wins at Winton earlier this month Team Vodafone has now collected seven of the eight races staged this year.
