Frenchman Sebastien Loeb won Rally Argentina, his fifth successive victory of the season, on Monday to stay firmly on course for an unprecedented sixth world title in a row.
Loeb finished the three-day race through the Sierra de Cordoba one minute 13.1 seconds ahead of Spaniard Dani Sordo, his Citroen team-mate.
Henning Solberg of Norway was third, more than four minutes behind Loeb.
It was the 52nd win of Loeb's record-breaking career and his fifth in a row in Argentina.
The rally produced a dramatic first day with four different leaders but Loeb took control after winning four stages in a row on Sunday.
Mikko Hirvonen, the only real challenger to the leading pair, retired with an overheated engine on Sunday afternoon.
"It really couldn't have gone much better for us," Loeb told the sport's official website (www.wrc.com).
"It's been a great rally. The stages are exciting to drive and we enjoyed a good fight with Mikko until Saturday afternoon. Okay, after he retired it got a bit less exciting but I still enjoyed my driving here."
The win left Loeb with 50 points in the standings, 19 ahead of second-placed Sordo.
"The car has been perfect and I'm happy to have done a good job this weekend," said Sordo.
