National leader John Key announced his party's plans for infrastructure spending on Monday.
He emphasised that $8.6 billion will be pumped into new projects over the next six years under a National government.
Key said National would spend $3.6 billion more than Labour over that time, with $1.5 billion to be spent on broadband, $700 million on the Waikato Expressway, and $500 million on schools.
He says in addition to this, reforms will be made to the Resource Management Act to reduce the levels of red tape.
Key also said another announcement will be made before the election.
