Labour leader Helen Clark and National leader John Key will be using the public holiday to get up close and personal with voters in Auckland.
Clark is due to make an appearance at several social events, including a Tongan community event and a sports day in Onehunga.
She will also attend a rugby match named in her honour in Mangere.
Key meanwhile will be taking his message to the malls of Auckland.
This comes as the gap between National and Labour closes, according to the latest Colmar Brunton poll.
National is now sitting on 47% support, with Labour on 35%.
