Teenage rookie Earl Bamber has driven A1 GP Team New Zealand to third overall in the opening round of the World Cup of Motorsport in the Netherlands.
In a solid start to the World Cup of Motorsport 18-year-old Bamber put in an outstanding performance on his A1 Team New Zealand race debut finishing second in the sprint race and third in the feature on the wet Zandvoort circuit.
The Wanganui native relished the experience of driving the new Ferrari for the first time in the wet but said it was difficult in the conditions.
But Bamber said finishing third has given Team New Zealand a great platform for the season, where he hopes they can attack for the Championship.
Malaysia won the sprint race at Zandvoot while France took out the feature
Both top the standings with 22 points - four ahead of New Zealand.
The next A1GP race takes place in Chengdu, China in November.
