Two thirds of respondents to the latest ONE News Colmar Brunton poll think the use of secret donations and trusts by Winston Peters has affected his ability to carry out his role as Foreign Minister.

The results came as the New Zealand First leader prepared to face parliament's Privileges Committee on Monday night to answer charges of receiving undeclared donations.

The Foreign Minister is facing the high-powered committee over allegations he received a $100,000 donation from billionaire Owen Glenn.

Peters will also be questioned over the Spencer Trust after an undeclared $25,000 cheque from millionaire Sir Robert Jones was donated to the trust.

Twenty seven percent of the poll respondents say the donations saga has had a big impact on Peters' ability to do bis job as Foreign Minister, 37% say it has had some impact and 32% say it has made no difference.

The Prime Minister says there's nothing illegal in New Zealand First's funding arrangements.
