Cycling is a new sport in the Paralympic Games. It is divided into two disciplines - road and track. Road cycling was introduced into the official Paralympic programme in Seoul in 1988. Track cycling was introduced in Atlanta in 1996.
Track cycling included time trial, pursuit race, tandem sprint and team sprint. Road cycling includes in-line events and individual time trial.
New Zealand has a team of five cyclists going to
Beijing. They are:

Jayne Parsons
Fiona Southorn
Paula Tesoriero
Cycling is a sport specially organised for those who are blind or visually impaired, with cerebral palsy, spinal cord lesion or locomotor disability.
At the 2008 Paralympic games cycling events will take place near Ming Tomb reservoir.
