Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is so intent on landing AC Milan's Kaka that he is willing to smash the transfer world record with a 150 million euros bid for the Brazilian star -according to Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport.

AC Milan's vice President Adriano Galliani confirmed over the weekend that the club had rejected a 'big' offer from Chelsea for the playmaker, but have made it clear that Kaka is not for sale at any price.

The Gazzetta said that the London club's acquisition of 26-year-old Kaka would be like a 'mission impossible,' but Abromovich will not be deterred.

There are also various reports that Kaka would be interested in taking up the proposal himself as he would stand to net 10 pre cent of the transfer fee (a reported 15 million euros) - with Kaka's spokesman, Diogo Kotscho even saying the Chelsea-Milan deal would 'benefit everyone involved'.

And newspapers reports certainly seem to contradict with Chelsea's CEO; Peter Kenyon denying the club had made a bid for the star.

"They have made it clear that he is not for sale and we will make it clear we have not made an offer. There is no reason to negotiate over something they don't want to do and we have not made an offer." Kenyon said during the clubs recent pre-season tour of China.

If Abramovich does offer the reported 150 million pound transfer fee - it will be the biggest transfer in footballing history - paling in comparison to the 80 million Real Madrid are set to offer for Manchester United's Ronaldo.
