What do I need?

Freeview|HD TM  is broadcast on a digital terrestrial network and received via a UHF aerial.

There are four requirements to enjoy the full HDTV experience:

  • A UHF aerial
  • An HD capable digital terrestrial receiver
  • A high definition capable television (at least 1280 x 720 resolution)
  • An HDCP compliant input and HDMI cable

If you need a new dish or UHF aerial, a Freeview accredited retailer can help you to determine your requirements and can recommend an installer in your area.

How do I know if I am in the coverage area?

Freeview|HD TM is available in nine major centres (Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin) covering 75% of New Zealand homes.
