A Christchurch judge has reminded jurors deliberating on an historical sex abuse case they can refer to similarities between complainants' evidence.
St John of God Brother Rodger Moloney is facing 23 charges relating to when he was head of Maryland's School in the 1970s.
Nine complainants took the stand during the trial along with the accused.
Justice Pankhurst said while the evidence from each complainant is most important, the jury is able to compare similarities. He has said those similarities could include complainants' ages and also the way in which some of the alleged offending occurred.
Pankhurst said in some cases, the boys allege they were enticed into private rooms within the school with the offer of biscuits and then shown affection.
