Auckland's mayor says there is no way he is fronting up with the rest of the cash for Eden Park.
The ASB Community Trust has approved a grant of $6.5 million for the redevelopment, but a further $12 million is needed to reach the required $240 million.
Mayor John Banks says the Auckland City Council has already fronted up with its share of the money - $23 million for work adjacent to the domain and $20 million for other projects associated with the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
He says he promised the people affordable progress, and he spends other people's money as though it is his own.
