May 9, 2008

New Zealand has dismissed England "A" for 280 at stumps on the first day of the four-day cricket match in Southampton.

Jacob Oram, Chris Martin and Tim Southee shared the wickets - Oram had 3/34 from 15 overs, Martin had 3/58 from 19 and Southee 3/80 from 19.5.

After a turgid first session where England "A" put together 48 runs from 29 overs the seamers took a grip after lunch.

Martin dispatched Robert Key and Owais Shah in the space of four runs, Southee bowled Bopara before Iain O'Brien and Martin completed the middle session dominance with five wickets in the space of 40 runs.

Luke Wright top scored with 120.
