Auckland football fans should know by Thursday morning whether the game's biggest name is heading to the City of Sails.

It follows continued speculation that David Beckham and the LA Galaxy will play an exhibition match at Aucklands Mount Smart Stadium later this year.

ARC chairman Mike Leev told reporters the club is still engaged in negotiations with the LA Galaxy to bring the star back to our shores.

Mike Lee said talks with the American club tomorrow will play a big part in the final outcome.

A full statement is set to be made on Thursday morning.
