The costs of running a farm are up.

New figures from the Meat and Wool Economic Service show costs for sheep and beef farms rose by almost 4% last year - the second largest rise in a decade.

The biggest price lift was for seeds, which increased by more than 27% due to a poor harvest last year, which reduced supply.scripts.nzoom.cma_one_news

Accident insurance costs rose by almost 17%, and despite the rising dollar making imports cheaper, fuel prices rose by almost 15%, because of higher crude oil prices.
