Lawyer argues case for tasers

A Wellington lawyer is holding up the case of one of his clients as the best argument he has seen for the introduction of tasers.

Fa'amanu Milford has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for an attack on his three young children in their Naenae home in February.

He was only stopped when police broke down the door and tasered him.

Lawyer Greg King says if it hadn't been for the taser, the end result could have been catastrophic.

He says the children all had life-threatening injuries and any further delay might have proven fatal.
