It will be a quick learning experience for Orien Greene as he starts life as a Harvey Norman Breaker.

The former Sacramento, Boston and Indiana NBA basketball point guard arrived in New Zealand on Friday morning to take up his new import role.

Greene says his knowledge of the Aussie NBL is limited.

He says he doesn't know much, although he's heard it's pretty good and he's excited to see it up close.

Orien Greene is in the side as a replacement for Wayne Turner, who's out for the season.

Meanwhile, centre Rick Rickert will sit out next Thursday's game as well, with a further assessment on his worrying back injury due on Monday or Tuesday.
