The United Nations has linked taser stun guns to torture, just a
month before police here release a report on the weapons.
The UN Committee against torture says tasers cause acute pain,
constituting a form of torture.
Its declaration comes after a second death in Canada, linked to a
taser.
A man has died in British Columbia, four days after police used a
stun gun on him, saying he was acting erratically in a shop.
Earlier this month, a Polish immigrant died after Canadian police
tasered him at Vancouver Airport.
A year-long test of tasers ended here in August and a decision on
their long-term use is due early next year.
