The Green MP Nandor Tanczos is introducing a private members bill which would allow cannabis use for those over 18 and growing for personal use.

This comes despite an agreement between Labour and United Future that cannabis law reforms would not be introduced.

Tanczos says both Helen Clark and Peter Dunne have accepted that current cannabis laws are failing but don't want to do anything about it.

Nandor Tanczos says it is ironic that Peter Dunne himself has in the past advocated that first time offenders under the age of 20 not to receive a conviction, but instead undergo drug education and treatment.
