Forty-five members of the Defence Force are being recognised for their service in the Solomon Islands.
Defence Minister Phil Goff will be handing them their General Service medals at HMNZS Pegasus in Christchurch.
He says the peacekeeping mission in the Solomons is significant because it was lead and manned by territorials, backed up by Navy, Army and the Air Force.
It was the first such deployment of a territorial force contingent since the First World War.
