The heroics of a Taranaki terrier named George have made international headlines.
The nine-year-old jack russell terrier was badly mauled by two pitbulls while protecting a group of terrified children.
But George's courageous act cost him his life. He had to be put down because of his injuries, but his story is now going round the world.
George's story has appeared on websites and in publications from Australia, the UK, canada and South Africa.
